Junaid Safdar Takes Admission in London School of Economics (LSE) For Masters Degree

Junaid Sfadar son of Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been enrolled in department of political science’s international relations for masters’ degree at the London School of Economics (LSE).He will start one year course of masters in this prestigious London University.

He is an active member of LSE’s Pakistani Students Society and regularly participates in events and activities of the student’s society. London School of economics and political science (LSE) is public research University located at city of London, United Kingdom. It was established in 1895. Although it is an authorized college of federal University of London, but it is self governed University and offers its own degree.

LSE receives al large number of applications for admissions from international students and UK nationals for it’s under graduate and PhD courses. Its admissions are monitored by UCAS. LSE has the highest average of entry qualifications in UK. For admissions in the University, the candidates for MPhill and PhD programmes must have first or upper class degree from UK University or equivalent in merit for international students.

LSE is first and only University in United Kingdom for having its Courses and programmes designed solely for study of social sciences. It has departments of: Accounting, Anthropology, Economic History, Economics, Finance, Geography and Environment, Gender Studies, Health Policy, Government, International Development, International History, International Relations, Law, Management, Mathematics, Media and Communications, Methodology, Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, Psychological and Behavioral Science, Social Policy, Sociology, Statistics, European Institute, International Inequalities Institute, Institute of Public Affairs, Language Centre and Marshall Institute for Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship.

LSE has academic partnership with top class international Universities such as: Peking University, china, Columbia University, USA, University of California, Berkeley, National University of Singapore, University of Cape Town and Sciences Po in Paris. It was ranked at 3 rd position by rankings of Complete University Guide 2017, UK. It got 7 th position at Times Higher Education rankings in 2017. Whereas, in year 2015-16, it ranked at 35 th position in overall rankings by The QS World University Rankings.

The South Asian Centre of LSE was established in 2015. In year, 2017-18 there were around 105 Pakistani students studying in LSE. The Pakistani student association at LSE is active in organizing events to promote Pakistani culture in the UK and represent a positive image of Pakistan. There are many research programmes being conducted in LSE that are focused on anthropology and economic history of South Asia. However, there is no research program conducted that was focused solely on Pakistan, the Pakistan student association is looking forward to introduce research project on Pakistan in future.

LSE offers fee waivers, financial support, Scholarships, and cost of living in bursaries form to its overseas students and UK and European nationals. The UK government also provides financial support to students through many private and governmental organizations in the form of scholarships.
