The Graduate Research examination is the assessment of qualitative and verbal abilities of the Pakistani student. After giving the examination the student can opt for higher studies abroad. The student can take up MS, MIS and MBA after giving the GRE test in Pakistan. The examination level is international for the GRE examination.

The GRE exam is more of an aptitude test that’s assess the Pakistani student’s ability of reasoning. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is required to get admission for graduate level in the United. It was Created and administered by Educational Testing Service (or ETS) in 1936.

 The aim of this test is basically to measure the verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills of a student. The GRE scores are put to use for admission to various universities in United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada and many other countries.

GRE score report of Pakistani student is required for admission process can vary according to level of study and schools. It has been argued about GRE that its exam format is too tough and not user friendly because it seems as GRE is for only know how well a student is familiar with the GRE test procedure rather than his/her expertise. After this argue ETS announced to redesign the test structure starting in fall of 2007.

The GRE examination is the broadened assessment of the critical thinking abilities and their application of the Pakistani student. This is not an examination that can been given by simple preparation this examination is the test of all kinds of skills acquired by the student over the course time.

The GRE exam prep is considered to be the entry test for most of the Universities abroad therefore mugging up the concepts wouldn’t be of any help in this case, Graduate Record Examination requires vigorous preparation.

 

GRE Examination Format in Pakistan in  2020 -

The two formats available for GRE are Computer Based and internet based.

The fact that a student can choose amongst any of the two formats depends upon the location of the Student appearing for the exam.

In the United States and many other English speaking countries GRE General Test is offered as a computer-based exam which is administered by selected qualified testing centers. And paper-based exams are also offered in areas of the world where computer-based testing is not available.

Validity of the GRE score for Pakistani students - The GRE score is valid for a period of 5 years.

 

GRE Sections Breakdown

GRE examination pattern and syllabus for Pakistani students are as follows -

The GRE Examination has the following 3 sections –

  • Quantitative Reasoning

  • Verbal Reasoning

  • Analytical Writing

 

  1. GRE Quantitative Reasoning – This section comprises of 20 Questions per sections and the time duration that has been provided to complete this section is about 35 minutes.

This section is the ability of the Pakistani student’s ability to apply standard Mathematics concepts. Thus evaluating the basic understanding of math.

The Mathematics of the GRE examination begins with the understanding of the elementary mathematics concepts as Algebra, geometry and Data analysis.

The Pakistani student must ensure that they have all their concepts clear before taking up the GRE test on date in 2020.

  1.  GRE Verbal Reasoning - The Verbal section comprises of the 20 Question in each section and for a time period of 30 minutes for each section. The verbal reasoning is the test of the Pakistani student’s ability to analyze, Understand and make meaningful interpretations of the data.

The Pakistani student must understand and summarize text as well.

 

The basic of the verbal reasoning are –

  • Content evaluation and analysis.

  • Understanding of the relationship between various parts of the sentences.

  • A clear difference between words and concepts

 

              The various types of Questions in the verbal reasoning is that –

  • Reading of comprehension

  • Completion of the text

  • Equivalence of the sentence

 

  1. GRE Analytical writing - This section comprises of the two subsection each comprising of different writing tasks that require the 30 minutes evaluation.

The two types of tasks that are being provided comprise of the following sections are as follows –

  • Analyzing an issue

  • Analyzing an Argument

 

              The important things that a Pakistani students evaluate are –

  1. Critical thinking

  2. Analytical writing skills

The task is generally centers around developing understanding of the issue and developing an opinion around it. The opinion that has been developed around an argument must be presented with an optimistic approach.

Addressing the demand for the various test takers the internet has been filled with superficial knowledge that won’t prove any sufficient at the time of the exam, detailed GRE coaching would be a good alternative.

It’s advisable to first look in the requirement of the examination of any University or college before applying for the GRE examination. The higher the score the more is the probability of the student to receive a scholarship.

GRE Score average of Pakistani students – The various sections of the GRE are differently weighed. The Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning sections are scored on the scale of 130 to 170.

The range of score of analytical writing is between 0 and 6.
